RIDING TO BE ENJOYED NOT ENDURED

xc dressage SJ

I have competed and produced my own event horses and trained with xcDavid Trott, Stephen Hadley, Stephen Moore and Frank Bourney.

I believe the basis of good teaching is the ability to quickly assess horse and rider issues and then be able to put together a plan to resolve them with small achievable goals to help with checking on progress. Working on both the horse and rider allows the combination to progress together. Confidence is often an issue for either horse or rider both on the flat and when jumping and by being able to accurately judge the combination'ssj abilities and then only push them within these, that confidence can quickly grow.

I have fifteen years experience in teaching here in Oxfordshire and I also teach clinics in Yorkshire and at Osberton.

I feel as a rider I have a quiet but positive style which gives horses clear direction and that leads to a happy confident way of going. I place importance on the basics that need to be established as xcbuilding blocks for all aspects of schooling meaning that youngsters are given the best possible start and older horses who have run into problems can be effectively re-educated.

I am also a trainer for the Mounted Police. I help the officers with schooling of police horses to make them more maneuverable and responsive, which can make a big difference to the way they can carry out their duties. I also help the officers with their riding so that they can be confident in their abilities when under pressure.

All aspects are covered in training to ensure partnerships are well equipped to tackle their goals, whatever level that may be and to help them reach their full potential.

WHATEVER LEVEL OR GOAL, I CAN MAKE YOUR RIDING AND TRAINING SOMETHING TO BE ENJOYED NOT ENDURED
